Topic: Gentoo, anyone?
After using it extensively at both home and work for the past few years, I can’t say I recommend it. Unless you have inordinate amounts of time and patience, and need extremely granular levels of customization in your installed packages, there’s simply no need for it.

We COULD try to get the back room at Natas and have a real meeting / dinner, OR we could just have dinner. If we just have dinner I say Wednesday next week we just go.

The only night during the week that’s no good for me is Tuesday. I have school until 10:20. Any other night is fine. I’m leaving the timing up to you guys since I know how crazy things can be for all of you. I’m gonna pull a total “guy” move on this one and say Just tell me when & where to show up.

Fancier then a diner is Louies Pizza? :-)
For sitdown places I think there is Georges, Westbrook Lobster has a room (upstairs?) or we can always just go to the bar :-)

We havent planned to many meetings since we lost our location. If anyone has a suggestion on a location we can start planning for February and beyond. In the meantime there will probably be a dinner gathering sometime soon (End of Jan?) for food/geek talk but no formal meeting or presentation.

Next “regular” meeting would be next Wednesday, January 17th. Perhaps something “fancier” than a diner?
I’m not as familiar with the area around ISG’s/DSL.net’s new digs as some of you are, so I’m leaving that up to those who know the area better.

Speaking of meetings. Where do you normally hold them? I live near Foxwoods and would most likely have to drive a bit. Thanks.

Hello, I am a new user here and I was wondering when the next official meeting will be? I’ve just converted to Linux a few months ago and I am looking to learn more new things I can do.
I’d like to see when the next meeting is and what usually goes on during the meetings. On the site it says the next meeting is in Dec 06, I doubt it wil be tonight though.
Thanks!
Kevin

Greetings OSUG.
I’m an aspiring python developer trying to keep everything open source. I love the simple design of the forums, what’s your forum software? I would like to use something similar in a site I’m working on.

Considering that I completely forgot, I agree :-)
Hows the festivus meeting for the first meeting in Jan? We can have our regular meeting then go out for dinner / festivus?

I think, at this point, we should schedule the annual festivus for early January. My schedule for the next 2 weeks is booked solid and I’m sure most other people are the same way. Should we try for January 3rd or January 10th?

Ladies & Gentlemen:
Your help is needed in planning the annual SCOSUG Festivus. The venue has been tentatively chosen, but before any arrangements are made, we need to decide on days we’d like to choose from to have the party & approximately how many people are planning to DEFINITELY be there.
This topic will close at 5:00 pm Eastern on Saturday, December 8th.
