This was also a meet and greet meeting, for long-time members to get up to speed with each other as to what we've each been doing, as well as greet some new members.

SWAG!

We gave out several boxed copies of Yellow Dog Linux 4.0 to attendees, compliments of Terrasoft Solutions.  We still have a few more, if you're interested.

If you run Linux on Mac hardware, YDL is a slick distro.  Try it out!

August 2006:

Annual SCOSUG Summer Bar-B-Q!

Where: Sleeping Giant State Park, Hamden, CT
When: Saturday, August 19th, 2pm until close

This year, we're returning to Sleeping Giant State Park as the site of our annual picnic.

There are a lot of fun things to do there, and we'll attempt to do most of them.  There's picnic areas, hiking trails, a cool old tower at the top of the hill to poke around in.

Various members of the group will be bringing some kind of food in a pot-luck manner, and some of the basic requirements (charcoal, meat (or veggie substitutes, etc.) have been coordinated by the SCOSUG executive board.

There'll probably be a frisbee or two, or even a football or something to throw around.  Maybe we'll play wiffleball.  You never know what we'll do when we all get in "the big room" together.

There are also a lot of trees, filled with squirrels, so be on the lookout!
