Hi all. It’s time to start planning our annual summer barbecue. Details need to be hammered out, so we’d like your input on the following items in the next couple of weeks:
1) Where to have it?
We’ve had it at Sleeping Giant in past years. One year we had it at Wharton Brook. This year, someone suggested we have it at Chatfield Hollow since they have a kid-friendly swimming area. SUGGESTIONS??
2) What day to have it?
Since meetings are generally on the third weekend, the suggestion is to have it on either Saturday 8/16 or Sunday 8/17 with the following weekend as the rain date. PREFERENCE??
3) What time do we start/end?
Should we start at Noon? 1:00? 2:00? Should we keep it to a time frame? 3 hours? 4 hours? 5 hours? THOUGHTS??
4) Should we rent a picnic shelter? Cost to rent a shelter is $150, not including any parking fees at the park. Having a shelter guarantees the space and grills as well as a place to sit out of the sun. COMMENTS??
Once we’ve got these details ironed out, we’ll get to the topic of food & beverages.
