20070802: Edit again, Picnic is August 25 @ Sleeping Giant; See thread in “Discussions” on what to bring.

We are having a PICNIC! When and where? The when is decided, August 25th, to coincide with the 16th anniversary of the first announcement of Linux from Linus.

Now taking suggestions on where. If we get someplace with internet, we can link up with the other picnics around the country. Otherwise we’ll just play bocce, which Ive discovered Im really bad at.

I have no idea where we might find an appropriate picnic venue that has wifi. Hopefully someone knows of one.

We may be able to reach QU’s wifi network from Sleeping Giant.

Any suggestions, anyone?

I was accually trying to make on at one point to hit the starbucks down the road, but gave up when the wife said we can get high speed internet again. (we gave it up when “The Boy” was born.)

There is free parking on the street, its just a farther walk then parking in the lot. Just so you dont think it costs money to attend the picnic :-)

oh man, i can’t believe you guys are having this just 1 mile from my place of work ( whitney ave, hamden).

as was pointed out already, parking is free in the street and quinnipiac univ. is across the street so wifi should not be a problem.

looking forward to it.

If you’re coming to the picnic and plan on bringing something, PLEASE post in the Discussion section so we don’t wind up with 20 bags of chips and no entrees. ;-) See you all on Saturday!
